No home action this Sunday for the Fen Tigers as they head up into the Derbyshire Dales to the picturesque Hi Edge Raceway for the return National Trophy fixture against Buxton.

After a solid all-round display last weekend saw the Fen Tigers claim a convincing 57-38 win, they will be looking to cement second place with a victory whilst keeping pressure on table toppers the Isle of Wight.

Following the ‘Islanders’ comprehensive victory over Stoke on Tuesday it is now only mathematically possible for the Fen Tigers to overhaul the Islanders and then only if they win their remaining fixtures and the Islanders lose theirs by a considerable margin. Third placed Stoke could though have a say in the final outcome of the National Trophy if they win all their remaining five meetings, two away from home.

Mildenhall club Chairman Kevin Jolly commented “It does look likely now that we will be relinquishing the National Trophy most likely to the Isle of Wight, but we can only influence our own performances and results and will be going all out to win our remaining Trophy fixtures and then see where we finish. The lad’s are starting to perform really well now as a unit and I am confident we can come away from Buxton with a victory. It is never an easy place to go but we have been successful there in the recent past and I see no reason why we cannot be again this Sunday”.

The Mildenhall line up is unchanged from last Sunday – 1. Stefan Nielsen 2. Aaron Baseby 3. Josh Bates 4. Jon Armstrong 5. Danny Halsey 6. Liam Rumsey 7. Nathan Stoneman.
