AFC Sudbury 2 v Chase Town 0

AFC SUDUBRY extended their unbeaten run to eight games when they defeated high flying Chase Town at Kings Marsh last night. Both sides made light of the heavy ground conditions with Chase Town twice going close in the opening minutes. Shave then headed straight at Price from Bussen's close cross before Branch cut inside only to shot tamely at Gould. Howell almost gave the home side the lead charging down a clearance from Teesdale's to unleash a first time 30 yard shot that rattled the foot of the post before rebounding back into play. Price twice saved Chase Town at the start of the second half when he blocked at close range from Heath and again from the follow up shot from Hawes. AFC Sudbury then took the lead on the hour when Shave rose above the defence to head home Heath's corner for a debut goal. Chase Town's Harris was then sent off for a deliberate stamp and as AFC Sudbury continued to press David Hawes forced Price into another fine blocking save. The points were made safe during injury time Haynes-Brown breaking down the left before crossing to Heath who shot first time from Price.
