Great Bradford 2, Sudbury Athletic 4

Athletic started off in lively fashion and could have taken an early lead when Steve Glitz headed just over from a great Danny Twyman cross. Athletic soon took the lead when Mark Adams chased a through-ball after some good work from glitz and slotted it past Trotter in goal. Bradford came back into the game and equalised through Mickey Pearce after a defensive error.

Athletic took the lead again in the first minute of the second half when a good move involving Chris McMahon and Andy Evers who released Ashley Skeggs to smash home from the edge of the box. Athletic, trying to play football on a difficult surface, struggled with their passing at times but soon made it three when McMahon cut in from left and hit a great strike that went in off the crossbar. With the game looking safe McMahon gave away a penalty for handball and Boyce made no mistake from the spot. Bradford's were pushing for the equaliser but it wasn't to be and the game was wrapped up when glitz went on a terrific run and fired past the stranded Trotter to make it 4-2.
