Wanderers boss Gary Megson has indicated he is prepared to listen to offers for the Nigerian who struggled to break into the team after moving from Watford last summer.
The arrival of Zat Knight has pushed Shittu further down the pecking order - he did not feature in the 1-1 draw against Hearts on Tuesday night - and the club with looking to recoup some of the money they spent on the former Aston Villa defender.
Megson told the Bolton News: “There is quite a bit of interest in Danny and we will see if it materialises into anything more concrete.”
