Former Newcastle United defender Steven Taylor has received international clearance but is not in the Ipswich Town squad to face Derby County this evening.
The 31-year-old, who signed a short-term contract recently after leaving the Portland Timbers last year, will wear the number two shirt at Town.
Taylor’s last appearance in English football came last May when he was part of a Magpies side, already relegated from the Premier League, that hammered Spurs, 5-1, at St James’ Park.
Since then, Taylor has been playing in America’s MLS and featured nine times for Portland, scoring one goal.
