NICKY Forster's future at Ipswich was shrouded in mystery last night.

The experienced striker is a £200,000 target for the Championship's bottom club, Hull City, with Town boss Jim Magilton confirming an offer has been received.

Ipswich are understood to be prepared to sell last season's top scorer, but only if Magilton can secure his own No. 1 target, Coventry front man Dele Adebola.

The Sky Blues, in turn, do not want to part company with Adebola unless they succeed with a £500,000 bid for Spanish striker Nacho Novo of Rangers.

With the transfer deadline little more than 24 hours away, Forster was unclear last night about where his future lay.

He said: “All I know is what people are telling me but I would hope for some clarification in the morning.

“If the manager does not come to me and update me, I will go to him and try to find out what is happening.”

Hull boss Phil Parkinson said: “We are in negotiation with a club, but I am unable to say at this stage who we are speaking to.”

Magilton added: “Dele would give us a physical presence up front and I am waiting to hear from Mickey Adams, the Coventry manager. I had a chat with him recently and expressed an interest in the player, but there has been no offer as such.”
