An angling club is celebrating 50 years of fishing the tranquil and picturesque waters of east Suffolk.
Framlingham and District Angling Club started from just two small farm ponds but now enjoys “substantial still-waters” at Parham, Wickham Market and Campsea Ashe, together with a stretch of the River Deben.
Chairman Mike Topliss said: “I wish to take this opportunity to thank all members for their loyalty and support; the landowners from whom the club leases its waters for the long-standing and excellent relationships maintained; local tackle dealers who act as agents for the club and those website operators who have kindly allowed to remain visible to the internet surfing public.”
The club’s membership is limited to 120 people to preserve the venues – however some vacancies are left for 2014. Call the secretary on 01394 460550 to apply.
