:Under 14 and 15 boys from Framlingham College raised almost 600 on Friday for a South African township which they will be visiting in August.
The boys spent an hour before kick-off at the Premiership game between Northampton Saints and Harlequins collecting money in aid of the Lagunya township and raised 593 which will go with various rugby kit that will be presented to the township in the spring.
Lagunya Rugby Club was founded 10 years ago and is a collaboration of legendary rugby clubs in Cape Town’s Black Cape Flats townships. The boys will play against Lagunya during their tour.
The team were lucky enough to meet the former England World Cup winner Steve Thompson before the match for a photo opportunity.
The college is also hoping to hold a couple more fundraisers to raise over 1,000 for the township.
