This year saw the fourth hosting of the annual Suffolk School summer sports festivals, delivered by Suffolk Sport and supported by the School Games Organiser network, providing excellent competition.
Around 1,300 children attended the two festivals with Ipswich–based Westbourne Academy hosting panathlon, kwik-cricket, tri-golf and netball.
Meanwhile, in Bury St Edmunds competitors took part in athletics, cricket, gymnastics, cycling, tennis, swimming and squash.
Suffolk Sport’s Children and Young People Officer James Payne, responsible for organising the festivals said: “Yet again we have witnessed two incredible days of school sport across a diverse range of different competitions.
“The standard of competition has been very high and the levels of sportsmanship and fair play exceptional.
“As well as seeing so many smiling faces among those taking part, it is also pleasing to see our team of volunteers and young leaders enjoying the experience and helping to deliver successful events.”
