PETER Green won the 2009 Elmswell Golf Championship for the third time at Stowmarket Golf Club.Peter, who plays off an impressive four handicap came in with 36 points, one point ahead of the club vice-captain Ivor Evans 35 points and Terry Southgate who came in with 34 points.

Leading Lady was Patricia Kent with 32 points
The finest golfers in the village gathered at Stowmarket as normal on the first Friday in October and found the excellent Stowmarket course at its very best.
The presentation took place in the clubhouse following an excellent meal and was attended by 40 Elmswell golfers and there non-playing partners.
Peter is pictured receiving the trophy that is sponsored by Elmswell businesses Advertising Business Gift Company, Falcon Promotions and website designers www.Club-noticeboard.co.uk in the normal tradition from the 2008 champion David Bicknell.
