Paul Hurst has admitted he is a fan of Peterborough’s Gwion Edwards but remained tight-lipped over the Blues’ move for the Welsh winger.
Ipswich have had an offer, which we understand to be in the region of £700,000, accepted for the 25-year-old with personal terms set to be discussed over the weekend.
Edwards, one of League One’s standout wingers in recent years, has told Posh he is keen to move to a Championship club this summer, with the London Road club reluctantly accepted the Blues’ offer.

“Have we? That’s news to me,” Hurst said when asked about a move for Edwards.
“I like the player but that bit’s news to me, although hopefully you’re right.”
When asked about links with Blackpool defender Curtis Tilt, Hurst replied: “I think we can roll the list on and on and on. I want a centre-back but I don’t know if Curtis will be the one or not.
“I think what we appreciate is whether clubs want to sell, the prices they are going to cost, because that all goes into the equation.

“We can all be a manager and say we want this player and that player, but is it achievable? Those players (Tilt and Edwards) are good players and the kind of calibre we’re after.”
Hurst admitted he would have liked to have made more signings by this point in the summer, having brought in only Trevoh Chalobah and Jordan Roberts, but is not overly concerned whether incoming players have previously played in the second tier.

“Championship experience doesn’t bother me, I just want good players,” he said.
“They can come from Mars if they are good players and that’s what I’m interested in. Would I have liked more? Maybe. I’ve said previously I would like the whole squad together when we arrive back but I think it was pretty obvious that that was never going to be the case.
“We would like them in sooner rather than later.”
