On a miserable day near Peterborough, Sudbury picked up a point in a battling draw against Market Deeping.

Sudbury travelled with only the bare 11, but made a great start thanks to some dreadful defending. Unwin released Bevan who rounded the keeper to finish coollyafter just two minutes.

Sudbury played some excellent counter-attacking hockey but lacked the final ball and a well worked Deeping routine saw the sides level at half-time.

In the second half, the back four of Bullock, Harrington, Underhay, and Kevis snuffed out any Deeping attacks and gave Sudbury a good platform to attack from.

Deeping scored against the run of play. A ball lifted into Harrington went unpenalised and Deeping went on to score.

Sudbury continued to play their own game, and were rewarded for their pressure from another short corner, when the ball was slipped to Unwin who flicked past the keeper at the near post.
