Luke Hyam managed 75 minutes on his return to action, as Ipswich Town’s under 21s drew 1-1 away at Queen’s Park Rangers this afternoon.

The midfielder last played for the Blues against Southampton in January, before suffering a knee ligament injury, but returned today in the development team fixture.

Manager Mick McCarthy said today he may opt to loan Hyam out for a short spell to help him gain full fitness, given the amount of options he currently has in midfield.

In today’s game, James Alabi gave the Blues the leader before the hosts equalised from the spot at Loftus Road, after Myles Kenlock gave away a penalty.
