Colchester United's caretaker boss, David Wright, will consider his long-term future after the club's last two games of the season.

But he has not ruled himself out of the running to be the U’s new full-time manager.

Speaking after yesterday’s training session, Wright revealed: “We’ll have to see whether it’s a job I want in the long run.

“I’ll be taking stock in the summer and then I’ll see what happens.

“It’s been a crazy year for me, but I’ve enjoyed it,” added 35-year-old Wright, who must be considered a strong contender for the job full time following Kevin Keen’s departure on Tuesday.

Steve Ball, who has managed Ryman North club Maldon & Tiptree during the second half of the season, in addition to the U’s under-21s, will be Wright’s assistant for the next two games, starting at Barnsley tomorrow.
