Ipswich East Suffolk 1 City of Peterborough II 1
IES drew their first league game of the season at home against tough opposition.
Solid play by IES captain Linda Rose and Marie Whelan meant the team had a good start without the nerves that hampered them the week previously.
Goalkeeper Faye Godden once again kept the defence in order with some good saves and Claire Pearsons provided support with some good clear-up play when required.
However, even given this improved performance, IES found themselves 1-0 down.
Not to be outplayed, IES continued to apply pressure throughout the team and soon earned themselves several penalty corners and gained the equaliser through a simple knock-in by Annette White.
The second half saw IES grow in confidence with some great passing hockey and a lot of hard work but the winning goal eluded them on this occasion.
