IES III 0 Christchurch II 0
Ipswich East Suffolk III, were well supported again with a squad of 14, and began this game against Christchurch II in determined fashion.
With both teams demonstrating they were playing for all three points, the ball moved from one end of the pitch to the other and IES were unlucky not to have converted their numerous chances from the first half.
Rachael Nunn worked tirelessly in midfield feeding the ball to the strikers, but Christchurch had an excellent goalkeeper who made some terrific saves, meaning the efforts of Lyndsay Trench and Cheryl Noakes went without reward.
As the second half got underway Christchurch forced themselves into some good positions but skilful play from defenders Julie York and Rebecca Mann meant that the score remained even.
IES pushed forward and again, were unlucky not to take the lead. Excellent umpiring meant Christchurch had a goal disallowed for a hit by the back of a stick and a last second short corner to Christchurch meant that the tempo did not wane but ended 0-0.
