The Under-14 Boys produced a well-rounded team performance and shared the load with 10 players contributing to the scoring effort as they rolled over Southend Swifts for an 87-43 win.
“The team worked well together and displayed what we covered in preseason,” said coach Syd Payne. Idriss Lebbie top-scored with 15 while Owen Underwood added 12.
After a very slow first half, the Under-16 Girls trailed by 8, but a third quarter turnaround saw Ipswich go on a 28-16 run and they eventually ran out to a 99-86 win over Surrey Goldhawks.
Cameron Taylor-Willis led Ipswich with 21, while Tash Jarvis (20), Ella Pearson and Susannah Rafiu (18 each) all made big contributions.
The one junior loss was for the Under-16 Boys, who lost a hard-fought contest with Haringey Hawks 94-78. After another fast start, Ipswich surrendered a 12 point lead and couldn’t recover despite 23 points from Joe Winder.
