IPSWICH bowler Phillip Last bowed out of the Potters Holidays World Indoor Singles Championship at Hopton-on-Sea yesterday when he lost 9-4 11-0 to seventh seed Andy Thomson.
Last, a qualifier for the competition, was delighted to have won his first-round match against Scot John Carswell to earn a match against one of the stars of the game.
But although he was competitive in the first set, he failed to register a shot in the second. Even so, it was his best tournament performance in the 38-year-old's career.
Stowmarket's Mark Royal is through to the third round where he will face Jason Greenslade of Wales.
