Ipswich II 3 Dereham 2

Ipswich made it three wins from the last three outings and look to be building an impressive run at present.

This run has seen the side fly up the table from bottom to third in the league.

The 12 players on show for Ipswich looked a good outfit once again and missing both Harry Martin and Max Underwood the youngest player on the park was the captain Geoff Reed.

Although an old side, it was a wise one and knowing that an unbeaten Dereham side would come hard at them they weathered the storm to take the three points.

All three Ipswich goals came from short corners, Cook drilling one into the bottom corner and Dixon flicking the other two.

Ipswich did create other goals and Miller will feel he should have had a flick and also the link up play between Foxy and Cook.

Both Walkers impressed in midfield, particularly Jim Walker who was probably Ipswich's best player in the second half and made it very difficult for Dereham to break Ipswich down, and the fitness and hard tackling James Smith looked very good when coming on.

James Smith was sent off for the third game running and will be badly missed in Ipswich's next game away to top place Harleston.

Reed welcomes back Martin and Underwood for the big derby game but with places hard to come by, both will probably have to settle for places on the bench in this very strong side.
