The recently-formed Ipswich Scorpions women’s rugby union team are holding an open session for experienced and novice players keen on playing the sport.

To be held at Ipswich Rugby Club on Wednesday night, the ‘Warrior Camp’ is an opportunity for women to learn the basics of the sport and potentially join the Scorpions, who were formed last September.

The session will be run at Humber Doucy Lane between 7-8.30pm and will be led by head coach Matt Jackson.

The Scorpions will be holding a full pre-season in the summer and will enter certain 7s and 10s tournaments next season.

The third season will hopefully see a more established team begin to play friendly matches.

“The Scorpions reformed in September 2016, having been an established side a few years ago, the main purpose being to promote fitness and try and get women in a form of exercise and activity,” said Mr Jackson, recently.
