FORMER Ipswich and England captain Terry Butcher will decide before the end of the week whether to take up a role as assistant to Scotland boss George Burley.
Butcher held talks at Hampden yesterday with Burley and has been offered a part-time role. Celtic defender Steven Pressley is also in line for a part-time position.
"I had a good chat with George and now I'll go away and speak to my family," Butcher said.
"There was nothing signed but, hopefully, something can be sorted out within 48 hours.
"All the people I've talked to have told me that George has gone for the football person in me - not the nationality.'
