COLIN Healy has played his last game for Ipswich Town after Paul Jewell terminated his contract with immediate effect.

The midfielder was substituted after 27 minutes against Doncaster Rovers earlier this month and marched straight down the tunnel before confronting the Town boss in the aftermath of the disappointing 3-2 defeat at Portman Road.

Now Jewell has agreed to terminate the 31 year old’s contract to give him the best chance possible of finding a new club.

Jewell said: “Colin is a terrific pro but he’s not had the first-team football he was looking for this season. Agreeing to bring his contract to an end early gives him the opportunity to find himself a new club for the rest of the season and we wish him the best of luck.”

Healy, whose contract with Town was up in the summer, made 29 appearances, scoring two goals.
