IPSWICH Town target James Coppinger has pledged his immediate future to Doncaster Rovers after signing a contract extension.

The 30-year-old wide midfielder is believed to have been one of Paul Jewell’s top priorities this summer with a reported two bids turned down by the Blues’ Championship rivals.

But Coppinger has now ended any speculation of a move after signing a contract extension keeping him at Rovers until 2014.

The former Exeter City and Newcastle winger is Doncaster’s longest serving player and has started over 250 games in the red and white hoops.
