SAMMY McCrory, who played for Ipswich Town from 1950 until 1952, has died aged 86.
He joined the staff at Portman Road after a move from Swansea and scored 42 goals in 103 appearances before moving on to Plymouth Argyle.
McCrory scored against England at Wembley and was a member of the Northern Ireland squad that reached the quarter-finals of the 1958 World Cup in Sweden.
He was living in Donaghadee and had not been in contact with anyone at Ipswich for many years.
