IPSWICH TOWN have agreed a deal with Sunderland that will see goalkeeper Marton Fulop complete his signing later this week.

Both clubs have been engaged in talks in the last few weeks to try and finalise the deal before the start of the season.

Town manager Roy Keane admitted late last week that he was close to siging the Hungarian international, but only now have the two clubs agreed terms on the transfer.

Sunderland manager Steve Bruce also comfirmed a deal was very close: “Marton is on the cusp of joining Ipswich - talks are going on chairman to chairman,” and that deal now looks sealed.

The 27-year0old is set to undergo a medical on Tuesday, ahead of signing a contract, and Town will hopefully have Fulop ready to make his debut in this weekend’s Championship opener at Middlesbrough.
