Ipswich Town won 3-2 at League Two Cambridge United in a pre-season friendly on Tuesday.
Early goals from Ainsley Maitland-Niles and Brett Pitman gave Town a two-goal cushion, but the U’s hit back either side of the break courtesy of Barry Corr and Luke Berry.
Second half substitute David McGoldrick, a replacement for Pitman who limped off with a foot injury, netted the winner for Town, who made nine second half changes – manager Mick McCarthy fielding a whole host of academy players as the visitors held on for victory.
