Ipswich Town’s under-21s defeated their Colchester United counterparts 2-0, at Playford Road, on Monday afternoon.

On-loan Leicester City striker Chris Wood gave the Blues a first-half lead, heading home an Alex Henshall cross, before winger Cameron Stewart completed the scoring in the second half, after he also got on the end of a centre from the former Manchester City man.

The game also saw Teddy Bishop, Stephen Hunt, Kundai Benyu and recent signing from Shelbourne, Dylan Connolly, feature, while U’s striker Jack Marriott, on-loan from Ipswich, was amongst the Colchester team.
