MICK McCarthy guided Ipswich Town to Championship safety using a mixture of players he inherited, temporary signings and his own men.
While the likes of loan signings DJ Campbell, David McGoldrick and Richard Stearman grabbed the headlines, stalwarts such as Tommy Smith and Luke Hyam, survivors of the Roy Keane and Paul Jewell eras came to the fore with some strong performances.
Jewell signings, Aaron Cresswell, Luke Chambers and Daryl Murphy all had strong seasons, while the emergence of Frank Nouble, signed by McCarthy, and fellow youngsters Elliott Hewitt, Tyrone Mings and Jack Marriott towards the end of the campaign, signalled a bright future ahead for all those connected with the Blues.
