FORMER Ipswich Town captain Grant Leadbitter is expected to line up against his old team mates next season with his move to divisional rivals Middlesbrough close to being finalised.
Sources on Teesside have reported that the free agent midfielder is Tony Mowbray’s top target this season as the Boro boss looks to go one better after missing out on the play-offs on the final day of the season.
Leadbitter opted not to sign a new deal with Ipswich last month following a protracted ‘will-he-won’t-he’ saga which has left Town manager Paul Jewell mulling over whether he needs to bring in a replacement among his expected summer overhaul.
