Ipswich Town continued their unbeaten pre-season last night with a 3-1 win at Peterborough United, in which a couple of new signings saw their first action in a Town shirt.

New striker Joe Garner, signed from Rangers for £750k, bagged a brace for the Blues, taking his tally to five in three games so far.

There were first outings for speedy left-winger Bersant Celina – signed on loan from Manchester City for a season – and athletic right-back Dominic Iorfa, who joined from Wolves on loan for the season last week.

Celina supplied an assist for one of Garner’s goals while Iorfa, who’s been compared to former Town star Tyrone Mings, didn’t see much of the ball in his time on pitch.

David McGoldrick scored the other for Town, who debuted their new red away kit. Former Town academy star Jack Marriott snatched the only goal for Posh.

Young midfielder Flynn Downes continued to catch the eye, while Grant Ward and New Zealand international Monty Patterson also impressed.
