Ipswich Town beat Leeds United 1-0 thanks to Bersant Celina’s long-range cracker. Andy Warren rates the performances of the Blues players.

Dean Gerken

Did whatever he needed to do well as he came in for Bartosz Bialkowski, most notably a good, palmed stoppage time save to deny an effort from Pierre-Michel Lasogga. 7

Dominic Iorfa

As usual he got forward well and helped out in defence but was again guilty of losing the ball on occasions and being caught out of position. His booking summed that up as he lost the ball, lunged for it and brought his man down. 6

Luke Chambers

A good performance for the skipper who was able to deal well with Leeds striker Kemar Roofe for much of the afternoon. Made one vital block in the first half and broke play up in the second. 7

Jonas Knudsen

The Dane once again deputised in the middle of the Town defence and was involved in the first-half flashpoint which saw Eunan O’Kane sent off. He fell to the floor after squaring up to the Leeds man, who appeared to lash out with both his head and forearm. Defended well as usual. 7

Myles Kenlock

Is proving himself to be a very reliable deputy at left back as he defended well and linked up with Celina when going forward. Can sometimes be caught out of position but has the pace to recover. 7

Cole Skuse

Back in the side and back popping passes round the field to get Town moving. Not back to full speed, as shown by his withdrawal in the second half, but he showed his value on his return. 7

Callum Connolly

You never get anything other than full commitment from the young loanee who was strong in the tackle and looked to drive forward at every opportunity. Some of his passing was a little wayward at times but his contribution was excellent. 7

Bersant Celina

Produced a goal good enough to win any game but, aside from his strike on 67 minutes, contributed superbly. He was busy from start to finish, cutting inside and hanging wide in equal measure. Pep Guardiola will be impressed when he sees this tape. 8

David McGoldrick

The forward was never able to take this game by the scruff of the neck. Superbly controlled a Celina rocket with his chest in the first half before looking to create a chance for Garner, but was quietly effective without ever stamping his authority. 6

Martyn Waghorn

Excellent in the first half, the Blues best player, before a more-quiet second. He dropped off superbly and brought others into play with neat touches and flicks and then stretched the 10 men of Leeds after the break. 7

Joe Garner

Led the line as usual but will perhaps be disappointed not to have found the net when he header straight at the Leeds goalkeeper. You get the sense he enjoyed this game, which was heated from start to finish. 7

Luke Hyam

More minutes in the legs of a midfielder still working his way back from more than 18 months out. Helped see out the game. 6
