Full-backs Jonas Knudsen and Dominic Iorfa were also outstanding, with Spence again solid alongside skipper Luke Chambers at the heart of the defence and Bartosz Bialkowski making some solid stops when called upon.

The Blues, who played with vim and vigour throughout, are up to fifth ahead of Saturday’s visit of Bristol City to Portman Road.
