Ipswich Town have agreed a price-capping deal for away games with 12 fellow Championship teams, the club have revealed.

The Portman Road outfit have written to the vast majority of the other 23 clubs in the division offering a reciprocal deal to cap the price of away tickets for adults at £25.

“We have received a very encouraging response so far and we have agreed a deal with 12 clubs,” Town’s director of retail operations, Lee Hyde, told the club website.

“Some clubs have expressed an interest and want to consider it further before making a decision and some have yet to come back to us. That happens at this time of year with people away on holiday.

“At the moment, of the clubs we have contacted, only one has rejected the idea.”

The maximum price of £25 will only apply on a reciprocal basis. If the opposition do not take up the offer, their fans will pay the standard price for that game when at Portman Road.
