We have assembled a group of Town fans to predict the outcome of Ipswich games and have their say on what’s going on at Portman Road.
Every week, our panel of Ipswich Town fans will make their predictions ahead of the Blues’ latest game, with three points awarded for a correct scoreline and one point given for a correct outcome.
We’ll keep a league table along the way, before crowning a winner at the end of the season.
Kieren Standley
It’s difficult to predict which Brentford team will turn up on Saturday. The Bees are very hot and cold but will be buoyed by last week’s win at Bristol City, keeping their faint play-off hopes alive.
Town’s impressive attacking display against Millwall on Easter Monday proves we are more than capable of taking the game to teams, if given the licence to do so. The previous meeting at Portman Road earlier in the season was another example of that, so I wouldn’t be surprised to see another end to end affair.
That said, Brentford do still have something to play for and I feel they must just nick this one, particularly if Mick McCarthy decides to experiment with his team once again. I don’t think it’ll be a goal fest like some of the previous encounters at Griffin Park, but I fancy both teams to get on the score sheet in a narrow home win. Prediction: Brentford 2-1 Ipswich Town

Back to the scene which Mick McCarthy highlights as the start of the end - this time he can’t bring on Jonathan Douglas when 1-0 down as he did in August 2016.
I’m expecting plenty of changes with two games coming up, hopefully a few more younger players will be given some extra time on the pitch.
Brentford have an outside chance of the play-offs and this will give the Bees the edge, over a team managed by a man who isn’t feeling the passion to win as much as he did. Prediction: Brentford 2-0 Ipswich Town

Brentford are probably second to Fulham in the ‘most fun to watch’ stakes although they don’t quite have the players their West London rivals do and the chief criticism has been the correlation between possession and points not quite stacking up.
Will we see the open 4-4-2 with two forwards and two wingers from the second half of Millwall, or the return of Carter-Vickers and 3-5-2. The uncertainty of this current situation makes predictions very tricky so let’s go for a very generic 2-1 away defeat!! Prediction: Brentford 2-1 Ipswich Town

This feels like a typical Championship game and so is hard to predict.
Brentford have had a mixed bag of results in the last couple of months, but they seem to have had a few draws recently. As it’s away from home for Ipswich and we have three games in eight days, I suspect Mick will play for a draw.
Meanwhile, the drama behind the scenes at Town seems to be limping on for another week, so I can’t see the boys shocking us with a top performance. I’ll go with a calm and dull 1-1. Prediction: Brentford 1-1 Ipswich Town

I can’t see anything other than a defeat at Brentford tomorrow, we never seem to pick up a result there and they have had very good home form this season.
With Brentford still having an outside shot of the play offs they will see this as a must-win game and I can see them comfortably doing so. Prediction: Brentford 2-0 Ipswich

As Town continue in this twilight zone to the end of the season, Mondays unexpectedly enthralling draw with Millwall has raised expectations that perhaps there might be more interest in the last six games than had previously been expected.
Aside from finally ending that barren spell in front of goal, the major interest came from Ben Folamis long overdue league debut. His confidence and touch on the ball was not only a breath of fresh air in this season, but also an indication of what the future might hold. McCarthy has implied that Folami might be given his first start on Saturday which raises expectation that the likes of Barry Cotter and Tristan Nydam may also feature.
Brentford are nonetheless in decent form and, with only a five point gap to the play-offs, have far more to play for than Ipswich. Hopefully, if Mick doesn’t choose to try and contain Brentford, it could be a second open and entertaining game in succession. Prediction: Brentford 2-1 Ipswich Town

How crazy our game with Millwall was last Monday… We are back in action tomorrow! League continues this Saturday with our trip to London to face Brentford.
Some people say we don’t have anything to play for… which is not true at all! We must try to get as many points as possible plus is a great opportunity to give our youngsters a chance to getting tested at the championship level; look the amazing debut from Folami!!
The Bees are just a place above us in the league and their form is a bit average so I can see us getting the 3 points from Griffin Park thanks to a goal from Waghorn! Safe travel to all of those making the trip! COYB! Prediction: Brentford 0-1 Ipswich Town

I don’t really know what to expect from the final six matches of the season.
I’m hoping for more of the same from the Millwall match, where I cannot have been the only one pleasantly surprised at the presence of Ben Folami and the front foot football on show.
It was an all-too rare match for Ipswich in 2018, but hopefully the triggering of Ipswich Town’s very own Article 50 and the impending Mexit sees a freedom we haven’t had in four months continue.
Ipswich fans are not hard to please, despite what Chris Sutton thinks. A team that puts on a show and has a project to believe in will do.
Dean Smith has his Brentford side playing some wonderful football, even if they don’t win all of their matches and probably aren’t going to be in the play-off picture. I have fond memories of Griffin Park’s away terrace, as I was there for the Boxing Day win in 2014 as we scored within 19 seconds and won 4-2.
I’d take that on Saturday too, but sadly I can’t see it happening. Prediction. Brentford 2-1 Ipswich
