Ipswich Town manager Mick McCarthy addressed the media on Monday, ahead of the Blues’ second-round trip to Premier League Crystal Palace, in the Carabao Cup, on Tuesday evening.

The Blues have won all five of their games at the start of the season, including in the Carabao Cup at Luton, but McCarthy explained he has been given no choice but to make wholsesale changes for the game at Selhurst Park, given the club’s current injury crisis.

With all three of his centre-backs missing, plus several midfielders, McCarthy will hand senior debuts to a number of Town’s academy products, against Frank de Boer’s men.
