Ipswich Town winger Josh Carson is training with Scottish Premier League outfit Hibs, according to reports north of the border.

The 20-year-old Northern Ireland international has been told he is free to find a new club by manager Mick McCarthy, and recently spent a similar spell at League One club Bristol City.

Carson spent time on loan at York City last season, but his stint at Bootham Crescent was cut short when he suffered a broken foot.

The Ballymena-born player has scored five times in 31 senior appearances for Town.
