Ipswich Town target Jay Tabb will leave Reading when his contract expires on July 1, the Royals have announced.

Tabb, in talks with the Blues over a permanent move to Portman Road, joins Noel Hunt, Ian Harte, Nicky Shorey and Simon Church on the Berkshire club’s released list.

The Royals, who will play in the Championship next season, have offered terms to goalkeeper Stuart Taylor, as well as a number of young players as they prepare for life back in the second tier.

Last week, we exclusively revealed that Tabb was also being courted by Town’s Championship rivals Birmingham and Middlesbrough but, provided personal terms could be agreed, favoured a return to Portman Road.
