Mick McCarthy has no new injury worries heading into tomorrow night’s clash with Derby, with Dominic Iorfa set to be available despite appearing to suffer a hamstring injury at Aston Villa.

The Wolves loanee was forced off in the closing stages of Saturday’s game, with fears he may have damaged his hamstring, but McCarthy has revealed Iorfa simply suffered with cramp.

Tommy Smith and Tom Adeyemi continue to work towards returns, with David McGoldrick still out following surgery on a gash on his groin, with McCarthy able to select from the same squad which was available to him at Villa.

“He’s ok I think,” McCarthy said.

“He cramped up. Everyone was asking me afterwards if he had damaged the muscle and whether he had done his hamstring and I said ‘I don’t know’, but it was more cramp than anything else.

“Unless he had any adverse effects today then he will be fine.”

Smith suffered a calf issue while away with New Zealand earlier this month, while Adeyemi is not going to hit his initial target of returning from hamstring trouble in time to face Nottingham Forest on Saturday.

McCarthy said: “Tommy (Smith) was saying he was hoping to be out on the pitch, on the training ground, but we’re just holding him back because the last thing you want to do is risk aggravating a calf injury.

“Likewise with Tom Adeyemi. He said he was looking at Forest but it’s not going to be the case. It’s going to be beyond that now.

“In regards to injury we’ve actually got a couple back with Emyr and Bish back.”

Luke Hyam and Andre Dozzell also remain sidelined with knee injuries.
