IPSWICH boss Roy Keane is ready to dip back into the transfer market after confirming that David Norris will be out for around four months.

The Blues midfielder suffered a knee injury at Coventry on Sunday and we revealed on Tuesday he will be out for the rest of the year.

Keane admitted Norris would be a big loss and has changed his mind about bringing in a new player, although once more dismissed suggestions it would be Dundee United midfielder Morgaro Gomis.

Keane said: “It looks like David will be out for three or four months and that is a big loss to us. It is tough on the boy him self because since I have been to the club he has been outstanding.

“He has a great attitude, great fitness levels, he is probably the fittest lad at the club and he will be a big loss to us.

“In terms of the midfield it is not the end of the world and we will adapt.

“I said last week that I would not be bringing in anyone else but that has changed over the past couple of days and I may now look to bring someone in over the next weeks or so.

“David brought a lot of energy for us and we are going to miss that.

“We are weighing up our options and will be talking to one or two clubs in the next few days.”

Keane also admitted that a couple more players could leave Town before the transfer window closes at the end of August.

He added: “We have not got the biggest squad but there could be movement with one or two over the next week or so. There are clubs in the background making tentative enquiries but that is not enough they need to put bids on the table rather than talk to every Tom, Dick and Harry. If I'm interested in a player I make an off that is what they need to do.”
