ROY Keane reminds Rory Fallon of his Dad!

Centre-forward Fallon has impressed in his two starts for Ipswich Town, since his loan switch from Plymouth, and there is every chance that the 28-year-old will make the move permanent at the end of January.

The New Zealand international is certainly not fazed by the strong and sometimes fierce talking of his new manager.

“He (Keane) reminds me of my dad actually, the fierceness of him,” revealed Fallon.

“He’s got that look, you know, that glare. There’s so much passion for the game inside Roy. He’s been a breath of fresh air for me.

“He’s given me some praise after the Preston game and that’s given me some confidence. You can tell he watches every move you make,” added Fallon.

Having caught the eye on his full debut, in the disappointing 1-0 defeat at bottom club Preston, Fallon again spearheaded Town’s attack to good effect in the 3-0 win over Leicester in Saturday’s snow blizzard.

He created both of Town’s opening goals, for skipper David Norris and his strike-force partner Jason Scotland. In fact, he is loving every minute of his new challenge.

“The move came quite suddenly really. I spoke to Roy and he said he wanted me to come down and play for them on loan, and see what happens after that.

“I bit his hand off and went straight away,” explained Fallon, who is currently on a two-month loan deal.

“I realise Plymouth are struggling for cash and they probably needed to get me off the books, but this thing isn’t 100% on. It really depends on my performances.”
