FORMER Nottingham Forest player Tony Loughlan has been appointed by Roy Keane as his number two at Ipswich Town.

Loughlan was Keane's assistant at Sunderland and will fill the same role at Portman Road.

Speaking when they worked together before, Keane said: “I've known him since my first day at Nottingham Forest. He's around the same age as me - he's young, he's enthusiastic. He's somebody I trust, I have great faith in him, he is very open-minded,

The duo, along with Bryan Klug, will get a close look at their new team when Ipswich go to Cardiff City on Saturday.

Loughlan helped Keane take the Black Cats to the Premier League in their first season as a management duo when Sunderland finished as champions.
