Ipswich Town will assess the fitness of new signing Leon Best, after the frontman was withdrawn as a precaution following an ankle knock, during the Blues’ Under-23s’ 2-1 victory over Millwall, on Monday.
Best, 29, was on target, along with Shane McLoughlin, as a Town team that also included Luke Varney, Teddy Bishop and Conor Grant, defeated the Lions, 2-1, at Playford Road.
Best was signed as a free agent by Town boss Mick McCarthy last week and, provided he recovers, should be in the Blues’ squad for Friday night’s trip to Reading, in the Championship.
