HEARD the one about the Kosovan, Macedonian and Serb?
Jim Magilton is looking to make it a hat-trick of Balkan imports by signing Dejan Stefanovic on loan from Fulham.
The former Portsmouth centre-back, who can also play at left-back, has been targeted by Magilton as concerns over Richard Naylor's neck injury grow.
Naylor suffered a slipped disc in his neck earlier in the season and suffered a recurrence of that injury during Town's loss at Barnsley in Tuesday.
We revealed earlier this week that Stefanovic was among the players Ipswich have asked about and Magilton was hoping he could secure the Serb this weekend.
Alex Bruce will go in alongside Jason De Vos at centre-half but Magilton is keen to add reinforcements with Fabian Wilnis more involved with coaching these days.
Magilton said: “If we could get someone in that we all know he could come in a do a job then I would do it immediately.
“I just want someone else in who I know could do a job. We brought Matt Elliott in at a crucial time and he brought a composure and we're looking to bring in that sort of personnel.
“I know Alex (Bruce) can do a fantastic job for us but I'm looking for cover to bring composure to us that's needed at this time.”
Although Magilton brought back Shefki Kuqi he admitted he is still searching for another front man.
He said: “Signing Shefki doesn't mean that there won't be another body to come in. “We're still looking to bring someone else in - a front man or another attacking player.
“We've got other bits and pieces going on and over the weekend we're hoping to get something else done - maybe another two in.”
The loan window closes on Thursday, March 27, and deals are still being made with Jay Bothroyd joining Stoke on loan from Wolves.
