Millwall manager Ian Holloway questioned the validity of Ipswich Town’s second goal, scored by Noel Hunt, in the Blues’ 3-1 weekend victory at The Den.
The striker scored from close range after missing an initial cross to the near post from Stephen Hunt.
“I’m not being funny, but if you look at the second goal, (Noel) Hunt has gone off or fallen off the pitch. The ball’s been rolled back in and he’s come back on and scored,” said Holloway.
“I’ve just asked the referee to look at it but surely, if you’re off the pitch, you are off the pitch.”
However, Holloway had no complaints over his opposite number and was generous in his praise of Mick McCarthy.
“What he has done at Ipswich is fantastic, he is the best manager ins the Championship,” said Holloway.
“He has had a high turnover of players and he’s managed to get a group that know what they are doing, they are doing it well and good luck to him.”
