SUNDERLAND manager Steve Bruce today confirmed that talks with Ipswich Town over the sale of Daryl Murphy are ongoing.

“Talks are ongoing as I understand it and we will just have to wait and see if these talks come to anything,” said Bruce.

Striker or midfielder Murphy is believed to have had a medical at Portman Road last month, but then the proposed move broke down with Murphy interesting Hull City.

That also came to nothing, and Town boss Roy Keane has gone back to the Stadium of Light where Bruce is happy to sell Murphy as he doesn't appear to be in his plans for the season.

Keane said today that targets had been narrowed down as he plans to improve his squad, but that he did not expect any movement over the next 24 to 48 hours.
