IPSWICH young striker Ronan Murray has seen a loan move to Gillingham fall through – just two days after scoring a brace against them in a training match.
The 19-year-old striker, who has been targeting a loan deal, travelled to the Priestfield Stadium but was left disappointed after the move fell through.
Town boss Paul Jewell said: “Ronan was on his way to Gillingham on loan but for whatever reason that didn’t happen, which was disappointing from our point of view and from Ronan’s as he is desperate to go out on loan somewhere.
“He is one who needs to be playing games as he’s a young kid of 19 and is desperate to prove himself. He isn’t one to just accept that he’s not in the first-team and be happy just training. He wants to go somewhere on loan and prove that he can be part of a first-team.”
Murray has made just one first team start with another dozen from the bench, scoring once.
