IPSWICH TOWN: Skipper David Norris has been unveiled on a billboard that dominates the Ipswich Station booking hall.

The player did the ceremony himself on a billboard that reinforces the ‘This is Ipswich’ message at the station.

“It was a lovely surprise,” said David. “We are fully aware and very appreciative of the standing Ipswich Town has in the local community and I’m honoured to represent the club in this partnership.”

Town chief executive Simon Clegg said: “Working with National Express and with the support of Alan Boagey, the station manager, we are delighted to be able to give a warm Ipswich Town FC welcome to all visitors to Ipswich. Hopefully it will be seen as a source of pride for all our loyal fans passing through the station.”

Boagey added: “Many Town supporters travel by train with National Express East Anglia every matchday, with Ipswich station the gateway to Portman Road.

“Now through the provision of this colourful and attractive artwork in the foyer at Ipswich station, everyone visiting the station will be reminded of the passion and interest generated by Ipswich Town FC among its supporters and throughout Suffolk.”
