IPSWICH Town have completed the signing of Glasgow Celtic defender Darren O’Dea on a loan deal until January.

The Republic of Ireland international, who is surplus to requirements at Neil Lennon’s Parkhead outfit, is in contention to feature in the Saturday’s Championship match at George Burley’s Crystal Palace.

He trained with his new team-mates this morning.

The 23-year-old has experience of playing in the English second tier after a loan stint at Reading during the first half of last season.

He has made in excess of 60 appearances during his Celtic career and was at Parkhead when Ipswich boss Roy Keane played for the club.
