IPSWICH Town have allowed 18-year-old Jai Reason to go to York City for a trial game today which could result in him being kept on for a loan spell, but only if there is a good chance he will play at the Kit Kat Crescent.
Magilton said: “We are sending Jai to York to get games. He will play in a trial match and York have the option then to keep him on.”
Academy graduate Reason has seen team-mate Jordan Rhodes progress to the Town first team and needs to kick on himself.
Rhodes scored on his Rochdale debut on Saturday after joining them for a month, while Billy Clarke has been a hit at Darlington and Chris Casement is at Hamilton Academical.
Reason said: “I'd like to test myself and prove I can play first team football so if the opportunity comes along and the coaching staff feel its right, then a loan move would suit me.”
