Combative midfielder Luke Hyam is finally fully fit - but Ipswich Town fans are split as to whether he should be first choice for the Blues next season.

The 25-year-old has been dogged by a series of injuries in the last two seasons, and has made just 31 appearances for the Blues since the start of the 2014-15 season.

But he returned to pre-season training with Town last week, and will travel to Ireland with the squad as they prepare for their first pre-season game against Drogheda on Saturday.

At his best, ex-Northgate School pupil Hyam is an all-action player who never shies away from tackles and is constantly pressuring opponents.

But, with new midfield signings Emyr Huws and Tom Adeyemi arriving at Portman Road, and old favourites like Cole Skuse still at the club, should Hyam be a first choice player in 2017/18?

Fans on Twitter are split, while, of more than 200 voters in our poll, 58% say he’s not good enough.
